The competition in the budget segment just got even bigger with the launch of Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 in the Indian market today. The Redmi Note 3 comes in two variants, the first one has 16GB internal storage with 2GB of RAM and is priced at Rs 9,999, whereas the other one has 32GB of internal storage with 3GB of RAM and will retails for Rs 11,999.With this price-point, Redmi Note 3 picks a direct fight with the recently launched LeEco Le 1S, which is selling at Rs 10,999.

As you can see above, both Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 and LeEco Le 1S come with full HD displays, runs Android Lollipop and supports 4G connectivity on the two SIM cards.

LeEco Le 1s offers brightness level of 500 nits, which is impressive while the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 comes with what the company terms as the "sunlight display" that adjusts brightness and contrast according to the ambient light. In addition, there is also a Reading mode in the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 will retail exclusively on Amazon India while the LeEco is restricted only to Flipkart.

On paper, Redmi Note 3 scores higher in terms of battery capacity and camera's megapixel count. But then the Le 1S has an octa-core CPU as opposed to hexa-core processor that powers the Xiaomi device, costs Rs 1,000 less and comes with the latest USB Type-C connectivity port.

Both are loaded with features and are priced competitively, however, we will refrain from giving a final verdict until we review both these smartphones.
